Dorothy Neceda
Human Resources Technology and Business Process Executive

Dorothy has 30 years’ experience in the HR industry. Early in her career, Dorothy was an HR practitioner starting her career as a compensation consultant with Price Waterhouse Coopers and then with Sibson & Co. It was here that Dorothy’s interest in technology began. Sibson & Co. was a forward-thinking company, and Dorothy worked on a team which developed a technology solution to obtain and analyze compensation information from compensation survey participants. At the time, the custom-built solution used leading edge technology, but was still slow and difficult to use. Nonetheless, the solution allowed Sibson & Co. to streamline the data collection, allowing the consultants to focus on analysis and customer interaction.

After Sibson & Co., Dorothy spent time working on Wall Street, again focused on the compensation and the HR functions. First with Goldman Sachs and then with Kidder, Peabody, HR technology was becoming more sophisticated and increasingly critical to the function. At Kidder, where Dorothy was head of Compensation, she and the HRIT leader developed a new system whereby bonus compensation decisions were performed via the technology solution. The result was that important analyses could be performed, for the first time, around bonus compensation against performance and business indicators.

The second part of Dorothy’s career has been working in and around HR technology as companies brought new applications and innovative services to the HR function. She first worked in the industry as a Transition Director for MCI Systemhouse, where she worked with the MCI team on the largest outsourcing transaction in the industry to date (Apple Computer). This transaction outsourced assets, people and IT services from Apple to MCI. That work extended into a role with a company called Exult, which was started by executives from MCI. Exult was the leading company to provide HR organizations with outsourcing services, similar to what had been provided for IT for years. When Exult was purchased by AON Hewitt, the resources who started Exult, brought another start up to the market called Equaterra. At this new company, Dorothy consulted with large-enterprise companies which were considering technology and service solutions. She worked with companies such as Goodyear, Delta Airlines, Johnson & Johnson, and Whirlpool guiding them through the decisions around technology and HR services.

For the last 10 years, Dorothy has worked in sales and customer management for two companies: NGA Human Resources and most recently OneSource Virtual. Both companies provide technology services. Dorothy is responsible for working with customers to design service delivery models to optimize customers’ HR organizations. With OneSource Virtual, Dorothy has been responsible for leading a team which designed a service line for global services around HR administration and global payroll.

Dorothy is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, she is a graduate of the International Culinary Center in New York City, which she attended during a career sabbatical in 1998.
