Jim Pettit, HRIP
For more than twenty-five years, Jim Pettit created award winning teams for some of the top companies in North America.
Talent acquisition systems were developed, talent was recruited, trained, and mentored, and customer satisfaction and revenues grew under his able direction. He earned success and recognition, but that wasn’t enough. In 2003, Pettit walked away from a corporate career to follow a disire to experience accountability for the P&L side of business.
Jim founded Talent Management Systems, Inc. where he was dedicated to helping current and future business leaders transition into new business opportunities. Jim also had ownership interest in an Island Ink-Jet franchise. After his four-year business ownership apprenticeship, Jim returned to the Human Capital systems industry as an Executive Consultant for Jeitosa Group International supporting numerous clients in the stategic application and deployment of the Workday Human Capital Management SaaS. Towers Watson recruited Jim to provide project management guidance in their fledging Workday deployment practice after which he took his talents back to the corporate world when he joined CareFusion to lead their global deployment of Workday. After building CareFusion’s HR systems management infrastructure Jim was contracted by Kimberly-Clark to provide his expertise to their Halyard Health, now Avanos Medical, spin where he is currently employed.
Prior to launching Talent Management Systems, Jim was a senior leader with ADP where he managed a $25M budget, leading the recruitment, development, and assignment of a 100-person consulting team across a book of business spanning dozens of clients and a variety of HR/Payroll/Financial systems related projects. Jim was a key member of a leadership team awarded the highest internal distinction for customer satisfaction, profitability, and employee effectiveness.
A numbers first HR professional throughout his career Jim takes great delight in linking human capital to organizational effectiveness. Jim has been involved in virtually every aspect of corporate leadership, project management, systems implementation, financial management, people management and development. He has lectured, conducted workshops, and been published nationally.
Jim currently serves as the Past Chairman of the Board for the International Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM) https://ihrim.org/ . His previous volunteer roles with IHRIM include: Board Member 2003 – 2006, 2015 – 2019, Board Chair 2016-2018, CFO, Vice Chair, Finance Committee, Conference Committee, Chapter President, and Chapter Vice President.
A recipient of a master’s Degree in systems management from the University of Southern California and a BS in Business Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Maryland.
Jim has received certification in Human Resources, Human Resources Information, project management, client relationship management, Total Quality Management facilitation, sales, negotiation, strategic management and Workday HCM.
Jim and his wife, Mary Beth, have been married for 31 years. They have two children, Jamie McLynn, age 27, Bridget, age 24 and one son-in-law Ryan.
